Before you go
A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Iowa.
- Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
- Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
- Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
- Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“Genuinely perfect! Anyone who visits the venue will know just how special the space is. A lot of time and care has gone into the property. The owners Deda and Neil were organized, accommodating, creative, and just honestly went above and beyond any expectation we had from the planning process to the wedding day itself. I truly don’t think they get enough credit for everything they do behind the scenes to make sure their weddings go smoothly and are unique for each couple. They even brought on a day of wedding coordinator, Megan, who made sure we were taken care of. We had so many amazing memories from the day, but Deda and Neil even organized a surprise meeting with their new highland cows! They knew how excited I was about them and brought them out for their first wedding. It was so incredibly thoughtful. We couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to work with!”

“Wow! I was a part of a wedding at Koru this weekend and what an absolutely delightful venue. I've been a part of many weddings and even coordinated some- they just did such a wonderful job of providing a smooth and well thought event day. The day of coordinator was just fabulous and did such a great job anticipating needs and really went above and behind. They were so thoughtful in all their details and have such a beautiful and unique venue and atmosphere. Getting to stroll around the grounds and check out the animals with an amazing sunset was just magical. Hoping to go back for another event soon!”

“WEDDING REVIEW: PICTURE PERFECT. Neil and Deda have done such a wonderful job with the space and are amazing to work with. The venue is gorgeous!! They were flexible and caring with every question and request that I had, always reminding us to do what we wanted as a couple. No idea was too crazy for them; my request for a limoncello digestif instead of champagne toast was granted and Neil outdid himself by making it at home! Our East and West coast guests all had such a wonderful time and I would HIGHLY recommend you get married here! PS our day of coordinator Megan was AH-MAZING!”

“When my husband and I first started looking at venues we had no idea on what we wanted nor where. We looked at 7 wedding venues and as soon as we walked into Koru, we knew we wanted to get married there. The owners made the entire wedding process super easy and were there for all my questions. You can tell they truly enjoy their job and want your special day to be as special as possible. The venue was gorgeous, Deda has great art work and Neil did a great job with all the landscaping! I would highly recommend this venue to anyone getting married, you will not regret it!”

“My first time out here was in April and it's a great venue! From a photographer's perspective, they've got great natural light for photos indoors and the tree at the ceremony site is just gorgeous as well as the berry bushes for a sunset backdrop. The venue owners Deda and Neil along with their staff were so helpful too, transporting the bridal party to and from the ceremony site for photos. Highly recommend!”

“We came out with my grandparents to watch the airwaves and have dinner. The area is beautiful and the animals were so fun to walk through and watch, we especially loved the loud roof guardians (the peacocks). They had someone doing wood fire pizza which was worth the wait, the drinks were great and the sweets vendor was good too. Prices were reasonable as well. Beautiful venue, we hope to be back soon!”

“If I could go higher than 5 I would. Amazing! This venue is beautiful. The entire staff makes your day seamless. I was able to enjoy my day without a worry. Everything is handled. Setup, teardown, decorating (if you chose). A coordinator for the day. Truly impressed. Thank you 😊”
