Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Connecticut.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“Great family friendly orchard. I am no orchard expert don't get me wrong but the environment was nice. The people who worked here were nice overall was a fun little weekend trip to take the kids. Plus the cider is AMAZING! Have a fun little tracker that takes you across the orchard and there are some nice spots to take photos with family.”

“Owner and staff are always friendly and personable! Love their produce we've never had a bad experience. Always fresh and delicious! Their apple cider donuts and slushies in the Fall are incredible. They also have other locally sourced products and specialty items you can buy. Quaint in the perfect way.”

“Drive here every year from MASS, because their apples taste that much BETTER! They do such a great job in keeping their plants organic and making the apple picking experience fun for the kids, that we always come back. Tons of other stuff here besides Apples, this please is the best.”

“A friend told me to come here for pick your own wildflowers. I'm so glad I listened to her! We had fun and got so many flowers. Filled the big bucket for $25 dollars. At home I was able to make seven full sized bouquets and two little ones”

“Excellent time at the apple orchard, was a very family friendly event. Definitely stop at the Stand, they have lots of cool things to purchase,I would recommend the aged in barrels maple syrup.”

“It was an awesome day to go apple picking. Cool and sunny. My granddaughter had a blast. The hot cider donuts were omg sooooo Gooood! We will definitely be going again!”

“10.8.22 This was a beautiful and fun spot with food truck that sold amazing apple cider donuts, live music, lots of pumpkins to choose from. But the pick-your-own was bare. There were literally no apples to pick. They shouldn't have advertised PYO and had signs/bags because all you heard was people walking through trees saying, i don't see any. Or once in a while, I got one. Inside the stand there were apples to buy but if you wanted to get your own, you wasted time walking aimlessly. Otherwise, this place is a great stop and as always, Support local farm and businesses please.”

“I want to love it here… I really do. I used to take my daughter all the time but this is the third year that we left empty handed when we wanted to go apple picking. The majority of their trees are rotted and when you do find a decent tree, the apples are super small and taste sour. I’ve always assumed it was either the time of year or the weather when I went, but we tried another local orchard today and their trees were perfect. These photos are from three separate trees at Lapsley today. They have a nice produce stand and their apple cider slushies are tasty. The annual fall festival is always great too… but choose another orchard if you want to go picking.”
