Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in California.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

What visitors say

13 reviews on file · showing 5 visitor notes from the listing data.

“This is the best farm compared to four others we have visited. Why? - The best tasting cherries we've ever had, hands down. - The cheapest we've had ($4/lb in 2023). - Super easy for the kids to pick (low hanging and in huge bunches). - Very friendly staff. - Tons of parking. - It's one of the first (if not the first) u-pick farms you'll pass driving from the Bay Area. I'm shocked there aren't more folks coming here. It's probably because they do less marketing and they are a bit hard to spot. You turn into a driveway type of road while most other farms have their parking lot right on the main street. You should definitely consider Long Shadow Farm instead of the more popular places.”

“Long Shadow Farm is a beautiful farm in Byron. They do an awesome cherry U-Pick every year and their cherries are the best! So juicy and sweet! I have two little boys and they love coming to help pick cherries. The sweet family who owns it is always super helpful in answering questions. They also sell olive oil made on the farm. We can’t wait to come again for the upcoming cherry season!”

“A hidden gem! Visited today and their trees are full with big, juicy cherries. A little off the main road but you avoid most of the major traffic and crowds! $4/lb and they provide bags too! I appreciate that they have a handwashing station next to their portable potty.”

“Great place to pick cherries. Easy parking, trees full of cherries. They take cash or credit cards $4/pound. Not crowded. Friendly staff.”

“Wow! Just went today 5/9/2026. These CHERRY trees are PERFECT for upick. Go now! Lovely owners. We had the best time.”
