Lyman Orchards

“This 187-acre farm has been in operation since 1741. Such a rich history and it's interesting to read about. They were involved with the abolitionist movement and is part of the CT Freedom Trail. They grow all types of fruits; from apples, corn, peaches, pumpkins, etc. The 4-acre corn maze opened in 2000. In 2007, they opened a 3-acre sunflower maze, it is open every summer. In 2012, they opened a golf course. The Apple Barrel is a farm store located onsite; they sell produce, baked goods, cheese, eggs, milk, jellies, deli items, etc. You can also pick your own fruit, depending on the season. They also have a pub and grill called 1741, located at the Lyman Orchards Golf Club. The land is massive and parking was plentiful. They have much to offer; it's a successful, historic business. My family and I enjoyed our time there and can't wait to go back.”

“My family visit here once a month. We love the orchards and the shop. Lots of goodies. We love the apple cider 😋 and doughnuts 🍩 the staff is very friendly and each visit is a new adventure.”

“This is an orchard that you pick your own peaches pears apples you pick the ones you want when you get there they have different size bags for you to buy so you can load up the produce with. Makes for a different activity outside of the Norm”

“I was gifted a pie that was mailed to me in Ohio from this Orchard. It arrived the week of June 23rd, which was very hot. It arrived in a box marked perishable, in a foil wrapping, with 2 ice packs inside. The thing is, this pie was so hot it could've come out of the oven, direct from the UPS driver's hands to mine. I email 2x & called and left a message inquiring if this pie was still safe to eat, with no return emails or calls, now it is just sitting in my fridge and will be thrown away. My dissatisfaction stems from the lack of communication when I reached out. Hopefully the person can get their money back as I am now going to ask them to try.”

“Not a good experience. No fruit to pick on pick your own days. Extremely busy. Had to wait over 1 hr almost 1.5 hrs at the restaurant. Over commercialized and too big to have a nice day of family fun. Avoid if you can.”
