Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Georgia.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
  • Payment notes on file: Mastercard. Cash still helps at smaller stands.

“Like a lot of stores in this area this store is what I would call a family generational store. Mack and his brother Jake inherited the family farm. They decided to split up the farm into two sections. So Mack ran this farm and his brother down the road ran the other store called Aaron's. There is a lot to see here and their inventory is very interesting. They have paintings made by an artist that lives in Tennessee. The man working there the day we came in was very friendly and helpful. And, we enjoyed chatting with him about the history of the store. The store is clean and packed with some interesting items for sale. Of course there is always something here that the kids will be interested in having dad buy for them. Plenty of parking.”

“This is one of the smaller Apple houses in the north Georgia area. What's nice about it is it's friendly people the owners on site. The staff takes good care of you ready to answer any questions you have. It's nice that samples that they have at the different apples and the different products they have. It's worth stopping in just to try to apple cider. So fresh so refreshing yes we had to take a couple gallons home with us. Also the fried pies are excellent many different flavors all of them good that I tried. So it's a good visit a good stop we walked away with some apples some cider fried pie and we also scored some Vidalia onions. And today we didn't get one but they had bushels of pumpkins to get ready for Halloween.”

“A must do! Any chance I have to stop, I always will. The folks here are solid gold, genuine Southern hospitality at its finest. IMO these are the best fried pies in the area. The pie selection is unmatched and the coconut pie is what dreams are made of. We enjoy looking at all the gifts and trinkets and usually leave with a bag full of delicious goodies. This is a great place with exceptional items and treats - a family favorite!”

“We popped in here looking for fried pies. The sign said they have 11 and they had over 20! The selection was incredible and the service was outstanding. The guy even swapped out some of our pies for larger ones. More bang for the buck. Good prices too. If you are looking for an apple house with good prices and the largest selection of pies, look no further. Glad I bought extra!”

“Got an apple pie and an apricot one. But better than the pies, was the hospitallity the owner gave to me and my buddy. I´m brazilian, we stopped there by curiosity, and left with an excellent pie, and a demonstration of the kind of good people from Georgia.”

“I love this place reminds me of Apple Hill in Northern California. My husband keeps talking about Fried Apple Pies and I had to have one while driving in the country. This store is the best! I could gain a hundred pounds here!”

“This little place is awesome!!! Their baked goods and slushies are delicious. They offer a variety of fresh produce, jams, candies and so much more!!!! We definitely plan on stopping here on our next trip.”

“Family owned store where you can by apples by the peck, fresh pies and other knickknacks. We drove up to Ellijay to see the fall colors and to stop by Mack Aaron’s. Staff is always pleasant and helpful, and the apples are always good! I tried the frozen muscadine slushy, which was really good! My husband bought a few individual pies, but this time they didn’t have have nearly as much filling as they have in the previous 2 years we’ve come. We drive up here for the pretty scenery this time of year, but it can get crowded at certain times! If you want to make a day of it, their neighbors (Reece’s Cider) across the street have a huge orchard with all things fun for kids, you pick, games, and there’s a putt-putt golf right next door.”
