What visitors say

17 reviews on file · showing 8 visitor notes from the listing data.

“The orchard is beautiful, a great place to visit and serve. There are service opportunities year round but the busiest time is pear harvest which usually starts at the beginning of August. For the first couple of weeks in August 100's of volunteers come to help harvest the pears which are used for people in need all over the world. It's fun to pick pears and visit with friends and strangers at the same time. It can be hot in the afternoons so picking is best in the early morning and evening. There are tractors and equipment being used regularly so it's best to keep kids under 12 at home. If you want more info you can call and talk to John or Kelly and they can help you. I always look forward to visiting, come visit and you will too!”

“Just a GREAT place to serve the community each August. Hundreds of local and regional volunteers from the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints descend upon this orchard every year to pick nearly 2.4 million pounds of pears. The pears get distributed to food banks in the region, most are canned and sent where needed all over the world (think disaster and hunger relief) and a small percentage are sold in order to pay the operating costs of the orchard. It's simply amazing how much good this orchard does.”

“This is a hidden Gem and a good cause. The price is for what they sell and how much. In the Bartlett pears it is a 40lb box. You can also volunteer to help out by signing up on their website. The numbers change so dont call those. You go to the barn and buy the fruit you want and if no one is there the. You call the appropriate number they will have displayed. They even helped me load into my car.”

“What a wonderful place. Beautiful, Green, welcoming. The public can buy pears for so inexpensive 40# box $15 WOW! It is an marvellous place to do srevice work too. They run 90% on service work and donate 90% of the pears they produce to charities including the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints, food banks all over the western states, and a few animal sanctuaries.”

“You can purchase produce from them (cash or check) and it's a great place to volunteer during the harvests. They really help our community so it feels good to help them.”
