What you can pick

In October, check what’s currently ripe before you go. Seasons below are typical windows for Indiana, not a guarantee for this exact farm.

Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Indiana.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

What visitors say

“My wife would say this is the best place in the world to pick blackberries. Her and her grandfather would pick blackberries when she was growing up. She remembers getting stuck by thorns and having to scrape through weeds and bushes to get to the blackberries. The experience at new Point Berry Farm is nothing like that. The property has been cultivated to make it easy to pick. The experience is easy to get what you would like, weigh and pay for the blackberries, and then go home and enjoy them. My wife has pick berries here for a couple years. My first visit we had our grandson with us. He's a little under 3 years old and absolutely loved picking the berries since he likes blackberries.”

“Wide variety of berries! The farmer out there is a very friendly hard working guy. Reasonable price. Makes for a relaxing time.”
