Before you go
A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Missouri.
- Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
- Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
- Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
- Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“Pates Pumpkin Patch is great fun for the entire family. I have to say it’s one of the best Pumpkin Patches I’ve visited. It’s easy to find. There’s things for kids of all ages to enjoy from the train to the giant slide or picking out a pumpkin before you leave. I’d recommend Pete’s Pumpkin Patch for anyone close or even if it’s a bit of a drive it’s well worth it. Me and my family love this place and visit every year. It will be open soon and I’d suggest if you are able to visit get down to Pete’s Pumpkin Patch for some family fun.”

“The kids had a blast running around and just being kids! They had several things for the kids and adults. My daughter loved the inflatable slide, other slide, corn pit, zip line, and pumpkin patch. Me and the wife had fun with axe throwing, rock wall, and the big slide. We enjoyed the apple cider doughnuts and the pumpkin doughnuts.”

“We went there 6 OCT 18 and they had an event. Admission was 7 per adult and it included a the train ride, tractor ride, and zip-line. All in all it was a great place to get a pumpkin, take kids to play, and get something to eat. I had a pulled pork sandwich with slaw for $3 bucks and a bottle of water for $1. You cant beat that.”

“There is not an actual pumpkin patch, just pre cut pumpkins for you to browse. Very child-oriented which is neat but not very safe, many places were very high up or with tall stairs or no safe way to get down. Workers were either very nice or not. Animals were neat and seemed well cared for which is definitly a plus. Fairly small. NOT disability friendly. If you would like to spend an afternoon there I would say it's worth the price, if you just want pumpkins or to stop by its not.”
