Before you go
A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Iowa.
- Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
- Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
- Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
- Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“So much fun for the family! Our one year old had plenty to keep him entertained while his 10 year old cousin had a great time too. So organized with lots of activities that don't take additional costs to partake in after admission. Great variety of animals to see. The food truck options were delicious. And on top with everything to do being spread across the farm, it didn’t feel super crowded. We had such a fun first experience and hope to be back soon!”

“We have loved coming here each year. They are always adding to this fall experience and it is a premier pumpkin patch with all the fall farm experiences. Love the animals and picking our pumpkins from the patch was so fun! There are also great food options. We loved the taco truck today! Entry fee is at great price for the whole family to enjoy all inclusive fun all day long!”

“This is my first one star review ever, so that tells you a little bit about how disappointed I am in Red Rock Farms. I also noticed they don't have reviews available on their Facebook page... and I'm not surprised. I inquired about purchasing a dog in January 2024 via Facebook. The page was very responsive and helpful and wanted to get us in to view the dog ASAP. There were two left in the litter. The woman (who I believe was the owner's girlfriend) encouraged us to take two puppies because "she didn't want to see them separated" and then gave us the second dog for free. We did agree (that part is our fault), and then learned later of all the issues littermates have. Now, two years later, we're still dealing with food aggression, dog fighting, and more. We've had to bring in professional help at this point to feel safe to keep them both. It's not like I blame the breeder for these problems, but I would expect a breeder that turns out this amount of dogs to be open and honest with their customers about common problems with dogs. I felt pressured and misled. Then, after we purchased the dogs, they gave us a free boarding and free grooming pass for each. I tried multiple times and multiple ways to schedule this - via phone and Facebook message. No response to anything. I was fully ghosted. I wish I would have done more research, and for that, I take responsibility. But I believe that Red Rock is only in it for the cash, not for the well being of the dogs or the families they send them to. Buyer beware!”

“I am so disappointed in the dog boarding they offer. If I could give 0 stars I would. When we dropped him off, the dogs outside were pretty aggressive towards him. The “suites” are absolutely tiny. The place the dogs use the restroom at inside, in is nothing more than disgusting. Pee and poop everywhere, I could understand if they had multiple dogs go at a time, but they only allow one dog in there. It should be cleaned after every use. The smell in the back where the dogs stay is so rancid. We sent our dog with all the food he eats normally in 2 days (5 sandwich bags) and when we received his belongings back, we received 4 bags back. That’s 2 cup of food for 2 days for a 75 lb dog. We understand he may not eat because stress levels but we got no report on anything. The picture below is what he looked like when we picked him up.”

“If I could rate negative i would!! My Granddaughter visited the farm Sunday. Was bitten by one of the many dogs lose on the property. Broke the skin on her hand. They offered candy for remedy. Now requesting vaccination records Landon laughs at me on phone call. Rabies is deadly if transmitted but he laughs! This is a puppy mill with horrid conditions and no care to animals. Dogs not vaccinated so our Granddaughter possibly Rabies prodigal... State needs to shut down facilities...”
