A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Minnesota.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“I had a blast at the apple orchard! It’s a fantastic spot for families, with so much to do and see. It’s not just about apples; they’ve got pumpkins, a mini farmers market, and more. One thing to note is that the seating is a bit far from the main parking area. So, it might be tricky for those with mobility issues due to the gravel paths and uneven ground. But they’ve got several booths selling snacks and trinkets, which is pretty cool. Plus, there’s a giant sandbox for the kids and a fun area with hay bales to climb on. Overall, it’s a great place to spend the day! 🍎🎃🛍️”

“What a fun place! We came here with no expectations, looking to get in an autumn apple orchard visit on lethal the last nice day of the year, and we had a blast! The staff are clearly passionate about their work, happy to answer questions or provide directions. The apples were delicious and fun to harvest. The price was reasonable and easy to understand. All around 5 stars! 🍎🍏”

“Honestly, Sekapp Orchard is the most adorable place. I used to come here almost annually during the fall months when I resided in Rochester, Minnesota. They have a great selection of pumpkins and mums each year, and the whole environment will really get you into the autumn spirit. Definitely pay them a visit, absolutely worth the trip.”

“This is our go to orchard every year. There are flowers, apples, caramel, pumpkins, honey, jams, yams, zucchini, cookies, cider and more. You have the option to pick your own apples and there are several photo stations too. Just beautiful this time of year.”

“We had a great time walking through the orchard and picking apples today. It doesn't look like much from the road, but don't let that fool you. The orchard is huge! And beautifully maintained. We will definitely be coming back very soon.”

“An excellent spot to explore on the east side of Rochester! A great variety of apple to choose from! The honeycrisp ones are amazing! There’s also a pumpkin patch and corn maze to check out in the fall.”

“It was fine. LOTS of pumpkins to choose from, good prices. Not a ton to entertain your kids. Playset, straw "mountain" (generous description), some well-worn photo ops (see photos). Good choice in apples. If you're just looking for pumpkins and apples, good choice, if you want more of an experience, you'll want to look elsewhere.”
