“You need to stop at all the orchards around Gays Mills to truly enjoy fall apple season, and since Sunrise is the largest, you should pay homage to what they’ve done. Depending on whether crowds are part of the experience, you can decide if you want to go during Applefest weekend or just another time. The apples and treats (cider, donuts, pie, etc) are all good.”

“Very friendly friendly staff. Biggest variety of apples. Love their Apple Cider and fresh warm from the bakery on site sugar apple cider donuts. Apple Sundaes are delicious. Very picturesque up on the hill. Fun picture opportunities for the little one's play are. Clean facilities. Amish candy and many other gift items.”

“We make the 1 3/4 hour trip each year to Sunrise Orchard in Gays Mills. It is a lovely, scenic ride from Madison. This year we were able to take relatives from Texas to enjoy hot cider donuts, honey, Amish goods and especially Honey Crisp apples.”

“My first time here, only an hr away from iowa. Apple oatmeal cookies were delicious, and cider slush. It was a beautiful day in mid October. Can't wait to try the apple butter and raspberry rhubarb jam I bought.”

“Edit to respond to the owner's question: Of course you can share the pictures! I'm glad you like them that much :) What a fantastic place! This is an incredibly lovely area. More than just an orchard or a store, this is a destination worth visiting! This wonderful location filled with an imaginative play area with "horses" named after apple varieties and a "sandbox" filled with corn (I've lived in Wisconsin most of my life, but have never come across that before), along with cornhole and lawn bowling, and opportunities for scenic pictures abound. There is a large parking area here, and for good reason. There were a significant amount of visitors when we arrived. This is clearly a popular place. The interior is huge and open, and there is a large variety of products other than apples here. Honey, jams and jellies, cheeses, decor, apparel, utensils, and APPLE CIDER DONUTS!!! Our only disappointment was that they do not sell individual apples or variety packs. We were both looking forward to getting a few of each type they produce to sample all the varieties they offer, but they don't have that here. I'm not sure if no one else has ever asked, but a variety pack would be a wonderful addition. We would gladly have each bought a package that had a few of every type of apple you have. Still, well worth the visit! The apple cider donuts are a must-try, and the blueberry jam is delicious!”

“Last weekend, there were vendars in their park area. You needed to know the vendor location. Then, it was hard to use Google Maps on your phone for g.ps. And if your regular car g.p.s isn't updated.. it's useless. Plus some area it don't work at all. But there are 3 or more apple orchards there. A big one and a few on the way out. You should know where you're going before you get there with some kind of direction. We got separated from the other driver because of cars between us. But overall, it was a nice place and very busy the weekend we went. They have cider donuts and jams. plus salsa and apples 🍎 and t-shirts and trinket stuff, and if you find the right stations, you can taste.”
