Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in North Carolina.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

What visitors say

“We had a blast picking our own strawberries! To pick your own, you simply grab a bucket and head out to the fields. The strawberries are 3.50/pound, which seems like a decent price for fresh strawberries. They also have ice cream and strawberry biscuits inside. Don’t skip the strawberry biscuits, those things are just amazing. The only thing to consider— they don’t have a whole lot of seating, just two tables out front. Saturday was pretty busy when we went so we weren’t able to hang out for too long.”

“I went with my husband John Saturday 05 16 2026 The strawberries are beautiful and very sweet. We also bought the strawberry biscuits and homemade strawberry ice cream. All three item were the the best we ever had.The young ladies serving us were very friendly and even laughing with me when I was telling them about the hornet chasing me. We plan to go back this weekend.”

“My girlfriend and I took our sons with us to pick some strawberries 🍓 The staff was very friendly and we had a great time picking some strawberries 🍓 They had all different sizes you could pick, I went for the big ones!! They were absolutely delicious!! I hope to get back there to pick some more before the end of the season!!”
