Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Illinois.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“We decided to check out this Blueberry Festival and Corn Boil. It is a great FAMILY OWNED business 40 years! They have a huge play area for the kids, find gems, small rides, enough for the littles to laugh, make memories, and tire them out’ While there, it’s a MUST to treat yourself with a piece of Blueberry Cobbler,, it is absolutely heavenly! They also have blueberry cheesecake, peach cobbler, and MORE! They have an excellent selection of friit and Vegetable, sauces, jams, and so much more!”

“I came for the strawberries, stayed for the green life. Was invited to the strawberry festival by an acquaintance and immediately fell in love! Not only were there so many beautiful plants to admire and choose from when buying, the mini farm was so cute! I especially love getting to pet the goats since I haven’t been to a petting zoo in YEARS. This is such a cute little attraction I’m happy I got to experience, hope I’ll be able to return for the peach and blueberry festival!”

“Staff were very friendly and helpful. Selection was amazing. All the fruits and vegetables were fresh. Plenty of room to move around with the shopping car. We will definitely be back!”

“It was my first time in this amazing space and despite knowing from what I can see what I expected to experience, I found it quiet enjoyable. They have this really kid friendly space with a lot of activities, some of which adults can enjoy. We loved watching our little niece run around trying all the little attractions. We especially enjoyed playing shooting hoops, touring the animal farm, seeing a llama for the first time etc. The food there and drinks are delicious too!. Tried their apple cider slush which was awesome! Both donuts we sampled were delicious even the pumpkin flavored one (which was surprising!). Next time will try their cider donuts lol. The vibe was lively even with the chilly weather. It was nice to see people and their children going around and enjoying themselves. Mind you this was and still is just a field though with some little attractions. Kind of hit me that despite how modern our world is right now, there are simple joys to be found in places like this. Corny but true. 10/10 would come back again next year!”

“Needed to run an errand in Geneva so I decided to make it a day trip with my 22 month old and check out Windy Acres. It was a quiet day there, maybe only 4 or 5 other families. I paid our admission which it was nice that 2 yrs and younger are free. We explored the different photo ops, which there were plenty. Most of the kid friendly stuff was appropriate for my little one, slightly seemed run down though. We got a cup of "feed" for the animals which I felt was well worth the under $5 price tag. The Goats, Llama, and Geese were eager for the treats. My son loved the Corn Bin, Giant Slide, and the Animals. I would have loved to take the train ride but maybe its only for weekends. I also felt like everything seemed "not open and ready" I especially was disappointed that not even the bubble station was set up. Overall it was nice to have most of the place to ourselves, the Apple Cider Doughnuts were tasty, and we had a lot of fun.”

“Our first time there. For the experience it was okay. Now the pricing was a bit high for nothing to offer. As far as samples of their grown merchandise to see if we would like the peaches or not. The way i see it its good if you have kids. It will get expensive. Most of the corn dispenser were not working and would just take your money. As you enter to the petting zoo. The corn dispenser to the left takes 50 cents to spin while others take 25 cents. Just watch out for that. I did made it aware to one of the staff, hoping they can fix it for future visitors and not feel scammed when it comes to feeding the goats. Games like basketball hoop were available train rides($6) free with gold band.”

“Be careful coming to this place. My husband and I wanted to treat his out of town mother to the strawberry festival. To eat anything from the grill area you HAVE to pay over $20.00 per person to just eat!!! Or get yelled at by an employee. Everything is already horribly over priced, not worth coming at all. I've enjoyed occasionally coming to get a few baked goods, nothing here is "outstanding" taste wise. Very basic and bland. They have lost our business entirely. Better farms in IL worth traveling to.”

“We came to start with trying some of the Peach themed drinks at the beer garden with a little food until we were told it was $18 a person to get into the area for the beer garden. That would make the cost of an ale outrageous! I'll spend my money elsewhere!”
