Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Illinois.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“Best fall place I’ve been to in a tri-state area! Petting zoo(baby goats!), rides, pig races, corn pit, great decor, old timey haunted house ample photo ops, and staff were all first class. One review called it a little kids 6 flags, but I found the quality more on par with Disney. Love not having the hassle of tickets and risk of feeling nickel and dimed. If you find it pricey, they allow free re-entry- pack up a cooler of sandwiches, fruit, and water bottle refills to take a midday break in the car and you’ll save a ton of money! That said, the snacks we chose to buy there were good. I do think they should have many potable water bottle refill stations readily available. With all the sugar, and especially on a hot day, the water helps bring blood sugar levels back down- happier and healthier patrons. Can’t wait to visit again next year!”

“We went to Bengtson’s Pumpkin Farm on a Monday and it was still pretty busy, which shows how popular this place is! 🎃 We went with family and had such a great time. There’s so much to do for everyone — from the rides and petting zoo to the food stands and photo spots, everything is fun and well organized. The fall atmosphere is amazing, and everything feels festive and family-friendly. The staff were helpful, and even though it was crowded, lines moved quickly. We especially loved the roasted corn and apple cider donuts — so good! 🍂🍩 Definitely a must-visit fall tradition for families. We’ll be back again next year! 🍁✨”

“Be prepared, there’s only porta pottys. (They were very clean, but still I was a little shocked) this place is amazing. I took my son, nephews, and niece and we had fun for hours. We got there right when they opened and left around 4:30. I highly recommend going during the week. The price is cheaper and less crowded. The rides are a 10/10 the kids really enjoyed them. They had a blast in the corn pit. My son had kernels everywhere. We lived the petting zoo but be prepared to pay to feed the animals. It was worth it. They have great sweet treats and wonderful staff. I would definitely visit again!”

“The attention to detail is incredible. Came here with our 6month baby and had such a great time! The food was delicious, so many fun things for kids to do and for adults! There’s rides, snacks, animals ! I had no idea there was a CORN pit coming in. So cool😂 Also, there are portable potties plenty!! And the ones we used were clean. Plenty of seating and a clean park. Great experience overall.”

“I went on a Thursday at 3:30 PM and it was a phenomenal experience. The lines were short. It wasn’t crowded at all. The staff was nice. I was so happy to see that adults could get on all the rides. We enjoyed the donuts. It was set up very well, so much to do worth every penny. I will definitely go again on a weekday.”

“So much fun! I took my 2 year old and kept her busy for hours! There’s plenty of food options, rides, and photo options. We will definitely be back🤍”

“Beautiful farm with plenty to do with kids. Walking, petting zoo (bring money to buy carrots to feed the goats), hay ride, pumpkin patches, a few rides, pig race. Not overwhelming. Farm feel. Very nice. Was a little overpriced at 23.99 per person for ages 2 and older. Concessions were good and located throughout the grounds. Plenty of Portapottys. Parking good but tricky for trucks and larger vehicles getting in and out, they crowd the car rows close together.”

“Not sure what the experience is like on a weekday, but weekend is awful. So many people, and the lines are super long. The tickets are expensive. If you ride 2 rides in an hour you are lucky. With little kids??? We caught 1 ride, and couldn't make in Another one, it was wrapped around a building and then some. It sux. Food lines are long too. If there are 4 of you, you are not walking out without spending anything less then $200. In comparison to the many farms I've experienced with my family, this was a joke and a money pit. I wouldn't recommend coming here unless you get here when they first open maybe, and thats stretching it.”
