Chase's Produce

“Found this little produce gem almost by accident. From Route 50 and Route 424 (Davidsonville Road), go south about 1 mile and it is located to the right. Easy access from Route 424. The owner was very friendly and the produce was beautiful. Picked up a small basket of 6 peaches for $5 and a football sized (literally) eggplant for $2.50. There were plums, cantaloupes, corn, green peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes (which looked beautiful), squash, watermelon, local honey and locally made jam (probably more that I missed). Prices were either the same or cheaper than the area grocery stores. Tried the peach, very sweet and juicy. Looking forward to stopping by again.”

“Best produce! Do not get cantelope or watermelon anywhere else but here. Always so juicy and sweet. 100% difference than store bought. We always stock up on corn too! I freeze it for the winter because we refuse to eat canned corn. Great to support the local farms! Also very friendly and takes credit cards.”

“We just picked the most delicious Maryland strawberries today. The gentleman that I believe was the owner, had to be one of the nicest, most friendliest, helpful person. I thought I was in the south! I recommend this farm highly. He will have fresh vegetables for sale this summer!!”

“Would have given a 5 star, because the strawberry picking was so fun and they are delicious….but if you have small children with sensory process disorders, or small children in general, beware of the older lady who guides you out in the field. Sadly she happened to be by the checkout area when we were getting our strawberries weighted. My youngest 3.5yrs old was looking at the jams, he was pointing at the jars and reading off the letters to my oldest 10. This lady screams so loud from the other side of the register, “!DON’T TOUCH THAT!” Scared me, and not to mention my sensory child. He ran so fast towards the TRAFFIC of that busy main road, luckily I caught him right before, THANK Goodness! Totally unnecessary a simple coming close to the children, and telling them please don’t touch would have been fine, or ask me to tell my children if they would step away from the jams, no need to yell at my baby period! Put up a sign that says you “break you buy”, any sensible parent will pay for an accident like that. I had told our kids they could each pick a jam or pickled item before we left, but after that incident and herlurking around my children after (as if we were going to break it, or take something) really was very upsetting and unnecessary. I never write negative reviews, but this one had to be done. First of all, if any of my children break anything we will pay for it, any and all of it! Put up a sign! Also don’t scream or yell at other peoples children. You are not the parent, and you never know if that child has a special need , where a sudden loud scream can make them going in to “flight or fight” mode.”
