Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Virginia.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“Tl;ldr: if you're looking for a laid-back and authentic feeling pick-your-own apple adventure, this is the place. I'd rate it 100/10 if I could! I can't believe we hadn't found this place until now! A few minutes more out of the way but absolutely worth it. This isn't like other orchards where you're climbing over crowds of people trying to reach the one apple left on the tree. It was a really relaxing and enjoyable experience! There might not be food trucks or music, but there's apple cider slushies (delicious btw!), apple fritters, and cider donuts instead. Plus really affordable pumpkins, jams, and pre-picked apples of all kinds as well! The drive out is beautiful, the people are very nice, and there's even a sweet dog named Benson waiting for a pat when you pull up to the pick-your-own apple field. Our Pink Lady apples were perfectly ripe and delicious. I can't wait to come back next year!”

“My wife and I visited on 4/20/24. The property was beautiful and the apples were great. We chose to pick 1/2 bushel ourselves which only took about 10 minutes and probably should have only taken 5. The trees were laden with fruit. The owners were there and were super friendly. We also purchased some apple butter and cider. Haven't opened the apple butter, but the cider was awesome.”

“When you walk in the door you are greeted with a smile and amazing smells! Shelby and Shellly ( I hope that I got that right 😀) helped me find the perfect treats (apples and a pie) for my grandson's. We also bought meat and eggs for our weekend. It is so refreshing to be able to shop for local produce, baked good, honey, and meat while visiting the area. 5 🌟 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️”

“A wonderfully peaceful and beautiful spot! The staff are very welcoming and friendly, and the scenery is unmatched. Delicious apples (and cider slushies!) We look forward to coming back. Also, check the website for hours/opening status, as Google may not always be accurate!”

“Has been our favorite orchard for apples for years! Now that we live 4 hours away it’s a little harder to visit, but we still make our yearly pilgrimage for apples and cider! Friendly staff, amazing cider, and - whether picked or pick your own - apples are delicious.”

“We love this Orchard. It is quaint and has beautiful views. It is way cheaper than Carters Mountain. It also has fantastic apple cider.”

“Beautiful location. When paying for apples it would be helpful if they had a sign up showing different prices for u-pick apples. I personally was disappointed that only 1 variety available to pick. Updates on your website would be appreciated with availability of u-pick apples. No hayrides, corn maze was $3. Corn maze not being used due to cost. Store on site had limited items.”

“I bought a half a peck of peaches at the Dickie brothers store on et 151 yesterday. They were beautiful but the vast majority were mealy And flavorless. I I was all excited to buy fresh and buy local -feel like it was a complete waste of money.”
