Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Wisconsin.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“Okay, WOW. We just got back from a wedding hosted at Ski-Hi and it was absolutely fantastic. The attention to detail and care from the staff throughout the day and into the night was exceptional. I could tell all the staff were dedicated to making the evening go smoothly, and it did!! Everything was so well organized and fantastically executed. The dance floor was very inviting and also slightly removed from the main hall area, making it easy to meander from one spot to another. People who wanted to chat and munch on delicious donuts or cider slushies away from the music could go ahead while dancers cut a rug on the dance floor. There was an Airbnb onsite for the wedding party to use, which was very convenient. The only issue was the line for the restroom, but that could be remedied by the use of port-potties in the future. There was an opportunity to feed animals at the petting zoo. The whole grounds were so picturesque, it was perfect!!! I would highly recommend this location to anyone interested in having an epic party. Way to go, Ski-Hi!!”

“Ski-Hi Fruit Farm, near Devils Lake State Park, in Baraboo Wisconsin is a seasonal Fall tradition for many residents in nearby local counties. It’s just beautiful orchard taking in the scenery and smells of the beautiful fall colors in the hills while eating cider donuts, apple turnovers, pies, and other baked goods. Apples of all varieties one can choose to pick their own, or pick up a bag in the store. Candies. Condiments. Coffee. Cider. A small petting farm for the curious kids. Local novelty apparel and stickers are super cool, recognized all across the country. True, People honk and wave at that sticker. Close during winter. Flying enthusiasts, you may see a plane or two flying in or out.”

“Worked my first job in an orchard many years ago, so it was nice reminiscing. The girl that took us on the wagon ride was very knowledgeable about the place's history and the land is absolutely beautiful and well maintained. The gentleman that introduced us to the pick was also just as knowledgeable about what apples were ready.. what were good for baking vs eating raw etc. The store is super clean and everyone is very friendly. Nice selection of wines and hard ciders. Overall, I hope this place stays open another 100 years. It seems the people there are very passionate about their work. We will be making the 3 hour drive again next year”

“We stopped by for the first time, just to check it out. They have very good apple donuts and turnovers. They also have a wide selection of gourmet fruit spreads, salsas and fruit drinks. They also have a variety of small batch hard ciders, and ryes as well as a wide variety of Wollersheim wines and liqueurs. There are also lots of picnic tables scattered over a nice green space to enjoy the various offerings. There is even a small petting zoo for the kids. Our grandkids loved it. It is well worth the trip!”

“Continuing in my support of “Mom and Pop” businesses, I want to recommend Ski-Hi Fruit Farm. Fresh apple turnovers and vanilla or blueberry donuts are prepared each morning. Come the fall, they will have apple cider donuts also. We were are to taste their hard cider, wine made with Wisconsin apples and grapes and their very own apple cider rye. They have quite a few other locally produced items including a delicious apple salsa. Stop by for a taste. It will be well worth your time.”

“I’m a local and always stop at Ski Hi in the Fall. Beautiful view, lovely people, and wonderful outdoor tables and picnic area. The apple cider donuts, pie, cider, and apples are YUM!! And they allow well behaved leashed dogs INSIDE!! It was a warm day, my elderly mom was shopping inside, and a nice Ski Hi employee advised me I didn’t have to sit outside with my dog and he was welcome to be inside. I’d definitely suggest a Fall leaf 🍁 color trip to Ski Hi for pie 🥧 and apples!🍎”

“Loved this little shop had alot of local and their own stuff. Recommend their Ski-Hi Rye very smooth got to sample before buying and their apple cider chews 10/10. This place is only 5-6 minutes from the south side of devils lake make sure to stop by and check them out. Thank you guys for the hospitality. Update: try the twig's sodas we got the rhu-berry and butterscotch root beer 10/10 on both.”

“Stopped by on our way to the Dells and had such a great time! They had some delicious ciders and a really yummy house old fashioned that we had on property while we watched the sun set with our dog. It was so peaceful. The staff was also incredibly kind. We stopped by to see the farm animals too, which we thought was fun. Apple pie also gets a 10/10 from us.”
