Before you go
A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Illinois.
- Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
- Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
- Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
- Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“Absolutely loved our time at the Strawberry Festival here! So many fun activities for both kids and adults — it felt like the perfect all-in-one spot for family fun. The live band added a great festive vibe, and the strawberry drinks and pastries were delicious. Worth every minute of the drive. Plus, staff and management were all super friendly. Best of all, the ticket price felt like a wonderful deal for all the fun and memories we made. Thank you for all!”

“So much to do and so nice. Spaced out well and felt nice and chill vs an amusement park type feel at some other fall places. The food was meh but the apple donuts were great! Kids had a blast and appreciate the fenced in areas for parents either little kids so they can relax for a bit and not have to chase them around. Will definitely go back next year!!”

“Fun place to spend a morning or afternoon in the fall. Open on weekends with lots to do from hayrides, petting zoo, slides and food. There’s also a corn maze, apple picking, pumpkins, sunflowers and lots of fun kids activities. There’s an indoor shop with fresh donuts and food items. Really enjoy coming here”

“Went to the strawberry fest! While we didn’t get to pick any we had such a good time! Entrance fee wasn’t crazy expensive, and everything that came with that was so worth it! My son had a blast with all the activities there! Would definitely come back for the actual orchard!”

“A great place for the whole family. There is a store with a little food spot inside to buy angel food cake and pies, and a lot more items. There is a store where you can get various treats and gifts. Outside there is a lot for the kids to see and do and play on.”

“Fun farm with a lovely apple orchard! We were lucky to find plenty of great Honeycrisp apples at the back of the row. The play area is fantastic—lots for kids to do—and the staff were very helpful. On the flip side, I wish adults weren’t charged for entry. For four of us (plus three 1/4 peck bags), it came to about $75. The bags felt small since they were paper rather than the usual stretchy plastic ones. There was also only one bathroom, which isn’t ideal for families. Another note: their canned goods are outsourced rather than made on the farm, and the jam we bought wasn’t as good as we’d hoped. Overall, if you plan ahead and budget for it, this is still a really fun and worthwhile family outing.”

“Nice people things were pricey to me. 12$ a gallon for apple cider. 8$ for a half gallon. Bathroom needed to be cleaned. I bought a small fudge snickers bar and it was 4.25 very over priced or the size and it didn't taste that good. Nice place kind for kids. Everything was expensive the beer and it didn't taste that good to be honest. The people were very nice in the store area and the kettle corn was good too. I also bought a huge thing of popcorn it was pricey also. One of the ladies who sold the beer was helpless when it came to selling the beers we asked which ones were most popular she said she didn't know. Then we asked which ones she sold the most of for the day she said she didn't know. I bought 2 instead one of each they both were a waste on my money in my opinion not good like that. Another lady who watched the kids on this jumping thing heckled us about having a waistband on but at 33 I was about to play tug or war this is for babies for the most part.”

“This place was a huge disappointment and honestly felt like a big scam. They advertised a Strawberry Festival for May 23–25, but when we arrived, we were told they do not even grow strawberries there. They only had some strawberries for sale in the barn. That is extremely misleading. The food options were very limited and very poor. There was almost no shaded area to sit, which made it uncomfortable for families. The activities were simple, boring, and not worth the trip at all. I have been to many family farms in the Midwest, and this was by far the worst experience. Do not waste your time or money here, especially if you are expecting an actual strawberry festival.”
