A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in North Carolina.
- Check whether this stop is a stand, orchard tour, or full farm experience before you arrive.
- Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
- Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
- Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“Not much variety, since it is a local small shop. However, they make up for it in quality, price, and home-grown hospitality. Good place for handmade wreaths and Christmas trees.”

“The two ladies at Cherry Hill Farms were very arrogant and rude. I called and told them I was coming to pick up a gallon of strawberries and I ask her if she would hold them and she kept saying if your on the road. Are you on the road. Well I got there and went inside and the berries were cold where they had been in tge refrigerator. I ask her how long they had been picked and she said they picked them yesterday. Some of the berries looked really dark like they were almost rotten so I touched a couple just to make sure they weren’t rotten because look I’m paying $20.00 for a gallon. She snapped at me and said don’t touch the berries if you’re not buying them. She said people have oil on their fingers and it makes the berries slimy. Well so does putting them in the refrigerator. Someone had to touch them to pick them and put them in the baskets. They were very rude. I went ahead and bought the gallon but will not be going back there.”
